About Us
Graphics and Vision is one of the 5 disciplines of the School of Computer Science and Statistics at Trinity College Dublin (TCD). Currently we have 47 Members (11 Academic Staff, 7 Research Staff and 29 PhD Students) involved in research and teaching activities in computer graphics, computer vision and all aspects of visual computing.
Our main areas of research include:
- Virtual Human Animation
- Perception in Graphics
- Augmented and Virtual Reality
- Graphics Hardware and Real-time Rendering
- Urban Environments and Crowd Simulation
- Computer Vision
- Image, Video and Signal Processing
Since the group was established, our members have been very successful in obtaining research funding from national funding agencies (SFI & EI) as well as EU FP7, H2020 and Horizon Europe projects. The group regularly publishes papers in high-impact journals and conferences, and previous members have been successful in establishing industry companies such as Surewash, Haptica and Havok.
We lead three postgraduate programmes including the SFI Centre for Research Training in Digitally Enhanced Reality (D-REAL CRT), the MSc in Computer Science - Augmented and Virtual Reality and the MSc in Interactive Digital Media.
